Barry Cogert
As a co-founder of the organization, he brings over 48 years of experience in the music and television industry, 40+ years of teaching, and 19 years directing music and jazz programs, shaping the vision and success of our initiatives.
Mark Barnes
A Stan Kenton award recipient, played piano in the University of North Texas jazz bands. He balanced his career as a Senior Vice-President with his passion for performing music, touring across North America.

Rob Feldman
Special Ed teacher for 10 years, then water polo and swim coach, talent agent, banker, and Real Estate broker for 30+ years. President of Jazz Angels and involved in many other organizations.
Dr. Phil Oncley
Philip, Clinical Psychologist is dedicated to supporting childhood development through music. A former first-chair trumpet player and John Philip Sousa Award recipient, he continues to create original music.
Barbara Woofter
She holds a certificate in Early Childhood Education and works as a school receptionist, church secretary, and worship leader. She is also a proud mom of three Jazz Angel graduates, two of whom are now employed by the organization.
Janet Schultz
A retired speech/language pathologist and hospital administrator, now an advocate for youth, the arts, and music. She has volunteered in the Long Beach community for over 20 years, supporting nonprofits and raising funds.
Dr. Laura Gonzalez
Laura Gonzalez serves as professor and mentor in CSU Long Beach, with degrees in different areas including music education. Dr. Gonzalez brings over 20 years of experience in higher education, media collaborations, and board memberships.
The Jazz Angels is a non-profit public benefit corporation, registered under IRS code 501(c)(3). Programs include both in-school supplemental music instruction and ensemble-based jazz instruction at our studio in Signal Hill, CA. Federal Tax Exempt ID number: 84-1686341
