In-School Programs
We bring the JAZZ to your school!
For years now the Jazz Angels have been partnering with schools around the Long Beach and Great Los Angeles Area. If you are a school administrator or band teacher let the Angels come to your school and work their magic with the kids. Barry and team have been working through various grant projects to bring customized jazz programs to both middle school’s and high school’s around LA. We will come visit your school and get a feel for the demographics and will customize the music arrangements for the best possible results. Programs with schools can be customized with the Angels coming to teach jazz once a month, bi-weekly, or weekly depending on the school’s needs.
Our in-school programs in the Paramount Unified School District reach over 200 middle school music students in a once-weekly jazz lesson as part of their regular music class instruction.
This gives the students additional exposure to improvisational jazz while allowing their regular music teacher the freedom to circulate around the room to observe and give individual attention to students as needed. We welcome participation from all local schools/districts who are interested.
