"Jazz Angels is an amazing organization. My son plays trumpet and started with them in the 6th grade (he is a 9th grader now). He had just started playing and lacked confidence. Barry and Albert (the instructors) had him try out, and you would have thought the sun had come right out to shine on my kiddos face when they told him he made it! They put him in a group with other beginners. I was nervous for him, but Barry and Albert have the biggest hearts! They wrote music at just the right level for the kids and then loved and encouraged them the whole time. My son was soloing at his first gig!!! It was such an amazing experience for him, and it certainly warmed my mommy-heart! If your kiddo is looking to gain some confidence in music, wants to learn more about Jazz, and just play a little more often, then this is the organization for them! They meet 1x a week and have a few gigs a session (1 session per season of the year). They are jazzy wonderfulness personified!!"

The Jazz Angels is an amazing organization. Barry Cogert and Albert Alva, the two director, truly have a heart for teaching young musicians. They provide a nurturing environment, where students feel safe to experiment, explore and improvise. The music is arranged specifically based on the ability and make up of each group. My son has participated with the Jazz Angels for over 6 years. He is currently a senior in high school and a member of the top jazz band in his school. I attribute a large part of his success, and his growth as a musician, to the time he has spent with the Jazz Angels. I would recommend this group to any young musician who is looking for a way to improve as a musician, overcome nerves as a soloist, play with other musicians of the same level, and have a blast doing it!
